Today is day 25 of the You Inc Star video marketing challenge. I am definitely excited to have put out 25 videos in the past 25 days. It’s been an awesome 25 days and I am looking forward to the next 25. I have definitely come out of my comfort zone a lot as far as not liking to be in front of the camera.

The video of the day is about mentors. As I was thinking about the topic for today and about my mentors I realized that I wanted to ask you a question. Are you a mentor? Are you someone who brings out the best in your downline? Who brings out the best in those around you in general? Are you someone who influences others in such a positive way that they understand the greatness that lies within themselves to achieve success in this industry?

Building, running and owning a business is set with a host of unique challenges and opportunities. With all the excitement of proprietorship it is easy to have lapses of interest or desire in one’s professional endeavors. Exhaustion, a sense of overwhelming obligation and lack of prioritization can quickly lead to procrastination. Now is the time to develop a plan to stop procrastination now! In order to grow your network marketing business you need to be able to identify, address, plan and prevent activities that will derail your business.

Identify
The first step in solving a problem is identifying it. If you find yourself distracted, staying away from tasks for longer than anticipated or simply disinterested in completing routine activities, you are likely struggling with procrastination. When you find yourself entering the cycle of trouble, you will need to confront the issue(s) head on and redirect your efforts and activities.

Address
Once identified, addressing the problem may be a bit more challenging. Are your struggles at hand personal or professional? Are there physical issues you are battling such as exhaustion or illness? For professional issues, think about your desired end goals and if necessary, reset expectations. If personal issues are to blame, consider taking a break from your business to address these stumbling blocks so that you can get back on track.

Plan and Prepare
The only true way to deal with procrastination is to identify the source of distraction and confront the issue. If you find that the drivers are cyclical in nature, devise a plan to help you address these problems before they arise. Planning will help you stay on track during times of disruption in your usual routine; while preparing can stave off perceived and actual barriers to your success.

Prevent
If the source of your procrastination is preventable; games on your computer when you are slated to be writing up the latest blog post or calling a friend instead of a contact, eliminate the source of distraction. At the same time, make time for the very activities that are a source of relaxation for you. It will ultimately help you prevent future episodes of procrastination.

Procrastination is by no means a professional death sentence. Instead, it should be regarded as an opportunity to address issues at hand and develop a solution to get yourself back on track. Network marketing business opportunities require you to be at the top of your game; unfortunately, nobody can be at the top of their game 100% of the time. Instead, confront these subconscious cues and follow the recommended simple steps to stop procrastination now.
